How do I face this season of pressure at work?
Joy may be the last word you would choose for this season. James does not call the trial itself pleasant; he connects joy with the endurance that the testing of faith produces. That distinction leaves room for you to name exhaustion, frustration, or fear honestly. The passage does not say that every workplace demand is good or that you should remain in harmful conditions. It invites you to consider endurance as something deeper than simply getting more done: continuing in faith when ease is absent. You need not manufacture a cheerful mood to read these words faithfully. This passage does not tell you how to manage your workload. When pressure at work feels heavy what might endurance in faith look like without forcing yourself to feel cheerful?
